“Gaslight”

An independent slasher short film about a group of friends who slowly get picked off by a serial killer. This film was created for director, Kiva Herrera’s, Pepperdine senior film thesis project and was presented to the Pepperdine Screen Arts Department for viewing. Bella was brought on this project to be a costume designer and special effects artist. She worked closely with the director and producer to style the characters according to their written personalities. Additionally, “Gaslight” was intended to loosely reflect and call back to the classic style of the 1980’s slasher films within a modern framework so Bella worked with garments from the actor’s personal wardrobe and sourced vintage clothing from local Los Angeles thrift stores and her own vintage store, Modorante, to create outfits that were reminiscent of 1980s fashion styles and colors. Bella also worked on set to assist with wardrobe adjustments and to apply fake blood to the actor’s clothes and bodies.
